Failed Bomb Attack: Wike Declares Himself Unchallengeable Amid Rivers Political Crisis, Claims No One Can Fight, Defeat Him
In the heat of the escalating political crisis and power play between the Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara and the FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike, the FCT Minister has bragged that all his political enemies cannot challenge him, boating that they cannot defeat him.

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has asserted that he is beyond the reach of any political adversary, dismissing the idea that his perceived enemies could challenge him.
Speaking at a civic reception held by the Rivers Ijaw People’s Congress in Port Harcourt, Wike said he chose Fubara as his successor in 2023, even against the advice of some Ijaw people.
As gathered by OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News, Wike refuted claims that Ijaw people opposed him amid the ongoing political tension involving Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, asserting that the Ijaw community fully supports him.
He stated, “It’s untrue that the Ijaw people are against me. Just like a father can have 12 children, and one might be a criminal, those criticizing me on TV were nowhere to be found when we made an Ijaw Governor. No one is fighting me, and I am too significant for anyone to do so. None of these people, combined, can fight me."
He further warned external politicians against meddling in Rivers State politics, stating that “Rivers State is very special to me.”
However, Wike alleged that before the civic reception, there was an attempt to bomb the event's venue, but the perpetrators were arrested.
"They tried to bomb this place using dynamite, but the police apprehended them. Promoting violence only deters investors from our State. Violence is not a monopoly," he said.
In addition, Wike also claimed credit for initiating the ring road project, criticizing those who now boast of having started it, and highlighted that he is repeating his development efforts in Abuja.
The Chairman of the PDP Elders Council in the State, Chief Ferdinand Alabraba, praised Wike during the event, describing him as "the most celebrated Rivers politician on the national stage."
