A Section of Dangote Refinery Ibeju-Lekki Lagos Has Gone Up in Thick Black Flame After Explosions on Wednesday Morning

Explosions and an inferno has broken out at a section of the Dangote Group refinery in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State.
OPEN TELEVISION Naija gathered that the explosive sounds were heard emanating from the Dangote Group refinery in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State, on Wednesday morning.
As sighted in a viral video, the blasts preceded a fire outbreak that engulfed a section of the facility.
OPEN TELEVISION Naija reports that the exact cause of the incident remains unknown, however, emergency response teams have swung into rescue operations working hard to contain the situation and investigate further.
As at the time of filing this report, the Dangote group has yet to react to the fire outbreak.
OPEN TELEVISION Naija recalls that Aliko Dangote had recently made it public that he fought and overcame a strong group of local and foreign cabal before and during the establishment of the $19 billion refinery.
The serial entrepreneur had also revealed that the mafia in the oil sector, who are stronger than those doing drugs, did everything they could to sabotage the refinery project.
It would also be recalled that while speaking at the Afreximbank annual meeting and AfriCaribbean Trade and Investment Forum in the Bahamas recently, Dangote said he never anticipated that the resistance would be harsh.
There has been believe in many quarters that Dangote’s refinery could be a game changer, bringing about significant reduction in the prices of petroleum products in the country.
