OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports as gathered that, the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Mr. Oluwatosin Adeola Ajayi, has briefed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on the country’s current security landscape and ongoing efforts to reinforce national safety.
OTN News further reports as gathered that, the high-level meeting, held over the weekend at the State House in Abuja, centred on emerging security threats, new intelligence assessments, and strategic measures being implemented to address Nigeria’s evolving internal security challenges.
According to sources familiar with the briefing, discussions highlighted the persistent dangers posed by insurgency, banditry, kidnapping, and communal violence—issues that have continued to test the nation’s security architecture.
The briefing follows months of intensified government action, with federal authorities ramping up surveillance, intelligence gathering, and coordinated security operations across the country.
OTN News recalls that in recent weeks, the government placed the nation’s entire security apparatus on its “highest alert ever,” directing security forces to aggressively pursue, disrupt, and dismantle terrorist and criminal networks.
OTN News observes that, the meeting is part of ongoing consultations between the presidency and security chiefs, aimed at ensuring swift responses to threats and improving coordination among Nigeria’s armed forces, intelligence agencies, and law enforcement bodies.
