OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports as gathered that in a move to fulfill his initial promises, the United States president, Donald Trump, has called for “peace and harmony” in the Middle East between Israel and Iran after the latter fired ballistic missiles at a US air base in Qatar.

OTN News further reports as gathered that the US president, Trump, who called for peace between the two nations in a post on his Truth Social account, after Tehran launched 14 missiles at the Al Udeid military base in Qatar in response to US airstrikes over the weekend, said that, they were “very weak”, did not harm any Americans and did “hardly any damage”.

According to him, “Iran has officially responded to our Obliteration of their Nuclear Facilities with a very weak response, which we expected, and have very effectively countered.”

“I am pleased to report that NO Americans were harmed, and hardly any damage was done. Most importantly, they’ve gotten it all out of their “system,” and there will, hopefully, be no further HATE.

“I want to thank Iran for giving us early notice, which made it possible for no lives to be lost, and nobody to be injured. Perhaps Iran can now proceed to Peace and Harmony in the Region, and I will enthusiastically encourage Israel to do the same.” he wrote.

OTN News observes that Trump added in a subsequent post: “CONGRATULATIONS WORLD, IT’S TIME FOR PEACE!”

Earlier, it emerged that Iranian officials had warned both Qatar and the US that it would strike the Al Udeid base, in a bid to minimise casualties and potentially avoid further escalation.

Iran, which dubbed the operation “Promise of Victory”, then publicly vowed to “cripple” more US bases, an apparent attempt to project strength to people in Iran.

However, a senior Iranian official later told Reuters that Tehran was ready to “begin diplomacy” after “punishing the aggressor”.
