OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that the senate president, Godswill Akpabio has allegedly removed the senator representing the good people of Kogi Central, under the umbrella of the people democracy party, PDP, senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan as chairman, senate Committee on Dispora and NGOs.
OTN News further reports that Natasha, who was removed as Chairman, Local Content in February and taken to chair the Diaspora and NGOs Committee will resume without heading any Committee.
OTN News observes that Akpabio replaced her with Senator representing the Akwa Ibom North East, Aniekan Bassey.
OTN News had earlier reported that Senator Natasha aborted her earlier plan to resume plenary on Tuesday following the court nullification of her suspension, opting instead to await the Certified True Copy (CTC) of the judgment.
She made the U-turn on Monday, saying her next steps would depend on the availability of the court documents, raising speculations among Nigerians.
OTN News observes from the information gathered that her shift came as tension gripped the National Assembly, with an unusual security buildup hinting at expectations of a dramatic return, possibly echoing her controversial chopper landing in Kogi after being blocked from holding a rally.
OTN News, however, recalls that despite all the drama, Senator Natasha had earlier said that, she had remained active during her suspension, pursuing development projects and engaging federal agencies.
