Abeokuta North LG Chairman Commissions Skills and Enterprise Development Centre, Pledges Commitment to Empowerment of Youths

As part of strategic moves towards human capacity development and empowerment of youths, the Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Ogun State, Hon. Lanre Oyegbola has commissioned a state-of-the-art Skills and Enterprise Development Centre, pledging his commitment to youth empowerment, practical skills acquisition and entrepreneurship training.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that Hon. Oyegbola, while speaking during the official flag-off ceremony held at the local government secretariat, Akomoje – Abeokuta earlier in the week described the initiative as a new dawn for the community and a strategic investment in human capital development.

The Chairman urged participants to embrace hard work, innovation, and passion as keys to personal and community transformation.

According to him, the Skills and Enterprise Development Centre is designed to serve as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship, providing access to tools, training, and mentorship across various vocational and digital disciplines.

“This Centre represents a beacon of hope and a catalyst for growth. It will equip our youth with the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in today’s fast-paced economy. Today, we gather to celebrate a new beginning—a new opportunity for our community to rise above challenges and achieve greatness,” he stated.

He therefore appealed to the beneficiaries of Centre, especially young people in the local governmentarea to seize the opportunity and make the most of the training made available, assuring the community of the council’s continued commitment to developmental programmes that uplift lives and build a stronger Abeokuta North.

The event was attended by community leaders, representatives of various youth groups, local government officials, and trainers who will facilitate the pilot programme at the newly commissioned Centre
