UNILAG Hands Over ₦35m Car Gift to 100-level Student

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports as gathered that in move to appreciate outstanding performance, the University of Lagos (UNILAG) has hosted a presentation ceremony to formally hand over a brand-new 2025 Alsvin Mikano car to the winner of the MTN Campus Invasion competition.
OTN News further reports as gathered that the handover was conducted by the Vice-Chancellor of UNILAG, Folasade Tolulope Ogunsola, who commended the organizer for its sustained commitment to youth empowerment and educational development.
OTN News observes from the information gathered that the recipient, Babatunde Ayomide Emmanuel, a 100-level student of Industrial Mathematics at UNILAG, emerged winner of the competition, which rewarded customer engagement and loyalty among students during MTN’s Campus Invasion programme.
The car gift valued at about ₦35 million, was presented to the student in the presence of university executives and his parent.
Speaking at the event, Prof. Ogunsola underscored the importance of responsible corporate citizenship, noting that partnerships between the private sector and academic institutions play a critical role in supporting students’ growth.
She said, “It is truly gratifying to witness a private sector entity not only providing essential services but also directly investing in the future of our students. This vehicle represents a significant start for the young recipient."
Expressing his gratitude, Emmanuel said “I am deeply honoured and genuinely grateful to MTN Nigeria for this extraordinary gift. Receiving the keys with my parent here from the Vice-Chancellor marks a momentous occasion. This car is a pivotal asset for my future endeavours."
