Trump Appoints Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy To Lead New Department Focused On Government Efficiency

US President-elect, Donald Trump has named billionaire, Elon Musk and former Republican candidate, Vivek Ramaswamy, to lead the newly established Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
Trump likened DOGE to a modern “Manhattan Project,” targeting transformation in the $6.5 trillion federal budget.
OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News gathered that their task: to reduce bureaucracy, cut waste, and streamline federal agencies for stronger economic growth and accountability.
He highlighted Musk and Ramaswamy’s outsider perspectives and business acumen, saying they would bring innovative ideas to Washington.
“By advising the White House and the Office of Management and Budget, Musk and Ramaswamy will drive a new entrepreneurial approach to Government,” Trump said, stressing the goal of reducing spending and boosting efficiency.
The department’s mission is to reshape Washington by eliminating unnecessary regulations and implementing large-scale reforms. Its success could have major impacts on US politics and policy, pushing for a leaner and more accountable federal Government.
