Transformative Leadership:OGUN NUJ Celebrates Dr. Lanre Sodipo at 50, Praises His Legacy of Grassroots Transformation
As the Executive Chairman, Abeokuta North Local Government, Hon. Dr. Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo clocks the golden age of fifty, OTN News joins the Ogun State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists to celebrate him for his transformative Leadership.

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ogun State Council, has felicitated with the Executive Chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, Dr. Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo, on the occasion of his 50th birthday, describing him as a transformative leader who has redefined grassroots governance in the state.
OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that the congratulatory message was made known via a statement jointly signed by the NUJ State Chairman, Comrade Wale Olanrewaju, and Secretary, Comrade Bunmi Adigun.
The Union noted that Dr. Sodipo’s leadership has been marked by “uncommon dedication, transparency, and innovation in local government administration.”
The NUJ rated the Abeokuta North Chairman as a transformative leader who has delivered critical infrastructures, initiated many people-centred programmes, and introduced reforms that have brought government closer to the people.
His administration, according to the statement, has also recorded strides in education, healthcare, rural roads, and youth empowerment, with a deliberate focus on accountability and inclusiveness.
“At 50, Dr. Sodipo stands tall as a leader whose legacy of service, humility, and impact continues to set a standard for others. His golden jubilee is not just a personal milestone but a celebration of the enduring difference one man can make in shaping lives and transforming communities,” the statement read.
The Union prayed for God’s continued wisdom, strength, and good health for the celebrant, describing him as “a shining light in grassroots leadership and a beacon of hope for good governance in Nigeria.”
OTN News recalls that Hon. Lanre Oyegbola-Sodipo won the local government election held on Saturday, November 16th, 2024, after polling 15,494 votes to record a landslide victory in the election.
He was given a certificate on November 17th of the same year and has since swung into transformative action, initiating and implementing many transformative programmes that have taken the dividends of democracy closer to the people of Abeokuta North Local Government Area.
The entire management of OTN News, therefore, joins the journalists' union and Ogun state to celebrate the young transformative leader as she clocks the golden age of fifty (50), praying for him for more wisdom, strength and divine grace in his leadership journey in life.
