Following OPEN TELEVISION Naija correspondent reports, the car owner noticed his vehicle was missing when he went out to retrieve something from it in the morning.

After searching the street, he realized it had been stolen.

A resident who was aware of the incident, but wished to remain anonymous, informed our correspondent that the owner then raised the alarm.

"There are two entrances to the street. The security guard was stationed at the other end and was unaware of the theft. It was only when the owner woke up that he realized his car was missing. That's when he raised the alarm."

He also mentioned that all his original documents were inside the car. The security guard had already left by that time," the resident explained.

She further said, they confronted him, accused him of being negligent in his duty as the security guard of the community while also demanding that the security guard should produce the stolen vehicle with immediate effect.

“The situation exacerbated, whick has result in the security guard being beaten into a coma and left him bleeding."

“When the information got to the colleagues who have a small base in the community where they serve as loaders and security guards, they all mobilised themselves into the area carrying cutlasses and wielding other dangerous weapons in an attempt to retaliate the attack on their brother,” Fade disclosed.

"The injured security guard was said to have been taken to an undisclosed hospital for treatment," Fade revealed.

Furthermore, she said the residents were panicking due to their population adding that efforts to merge the police intervention proved abortive.

“We had to put a call through to the Joint Task Force and Divisional Police Officer in the area but none of them picked their calls. It took the intervention of the elders in the community before they were calmed,” she added.
