Today, Monday January 20, 2025 marks a landmark in the 200 plus years history of America's democracy as Donald Trump will be inaugurated as the President of the United States for the second time.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News gathered from reliable international sources that the Presidential inauguration ceremony will be held, as a close door event, close to the US Capitol, where Trump supporters had four years ago, launched an attack over his 2020 electoral loss.

OTN News reports that the return of Trump to the White House, after his defeat in 2020 marks a rare occurrence in the anals of political history of the United States of America as Trump, will be the second president to have come to power, lost the re-election bid and then, won again, given that the first former American President to have achieved that feat was Grover Cleveland who did so in the late 1800s.

OTN News further reports that a plethora of world leaders, including the outgoing American President, Joe Biden, who has confirmedi his attendance to signify a smooth transition and change of power, are scheduled to take part in Trump's inauguration today among other prominent global figures, Big tech CEOs including the likes of Tesla CEO Elon Musk, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, Apple CEO Tim Cook, and TikTok CEO Shou Chew are likely to be present.

OTN News gathered that ahead of his inauguration, Donald Trump arrived Washington DC on Sunday morning to grace a series of pre-inauguration events slated over the weekend among which is the 500-member celebration at the Trump National Golf Club in Virginia, including 18 Galas alongside no fewer than three official events.

On the eve of his second inauguration, he took part in a “Make America Great Again Victory Rally”.

Notably, due to a blast of Arctic air expected to leave the US capital facing frigid temperatures on Monday, Trump opted to move inside most of the outdoor events, including the swearing-in ceremony, hence, the inauguration ceremony will hold indoors for the first time since Ronald Reagan’s second inauguration in January 1985.

Unlike Trump who skipped Bidden's Inauguration, insisting he won the election, outgoing American President Joe Biden is reported to have confirmed his attendance of the event although indications are sketchy if Kamala Harris, who had recently snubbed Trump during the burial of former President Jimmy Carter, will also attend Trump's inauguration.

While it is reported that some power blocks are standing aloof from Trump's inauguration ceremony, many high networth individuals from across the world have made the official list of attendees scheduled to grace the occasion.
