Ogun State Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun has put beams of smiles on the faces on Pensioners in the gateway state by extending his administration's end of the year bonus to them.
OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that this development came following appeals by the senior citizens to the Ogun State Government to extend its end of the year bonus to them of which the governor has thought prudent to grant their request.
OTN News further reports that the Governor approved the immediate payment of N20,000 bonus to the Pensioners across all strata.
The Nigeria Union of Pensioners ( NUP) has confirmed the positive development in a letter addressed to the Governor and jointly signed by its Chairman, Alhaji Waheed Oloyede and Secretary, Comrade Bola Lawal respectively, described the gesture as a heart-soothening one, saying it is first of its kind in the history of the State.
The obviously elated Pensioners described the Governor’s love to them as “unquantifiable and of sincere goodwill” while expressing confidence that the governor will further take their welfare to the next level by approving the Consequential Adjustments of Pensions (CAP) for them in the new year 2025.
The appreciation and acknowledgement letter sighted by OTN News reads: ”
