Popular Ibadan-based Radio Broadcaster, Kola Oladapo Reported Dead

Barely few days to the end of the year 2025, the sad news of the death of popular Ibadan-based broadcaster, Kola Oladapo fondly known as "Mr. Nice Guy,” who was an on-air personality with Splash FM and Lagelu FM, radio stations in Ibadan, Oyo State Capital has been announced.
OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports as gathered that the in a telephone conversation, the General Manager of LageluFM, Mr Babatunde Olawuwo informed PMParrot that the deceased who died at an hospital in Ibadan on Saturday evening, after a brief illness was subsequently interred on Sunday, December 28, 2025 at Sango Cemetry, Ibadan.
In an official statement, the management and staff of Lagelu FM described his death as a painful loss, noting that Oladapo’s presence went far beyond being a familiar voice on the airwaves, as he was a source of comfort, inspiration and connection to countless listeners.
"He was a man of many talents who wore his greatness with humility and grace, leaving lasting impressions on colleagues, friends and listeners alike,” the statement said.
Lagelu FM further described Oladapo, who is officially believed to be 45 years of age.
Meanwhile, the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde, has commiserated with the management and staff of the stations over the death of the broadcaster.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the Special Assistant on Print Media, to the Oyo State Governor' Moses Alao, described Oladapo’s death as painful and prayed for the repose of his soul.
The Oyo State Governor in the statement also expressed condolences to the family of the deceased, asking God to grant them the strength to bear the loss.
The management and staff of Lagelu FM extended heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and loved ones, praying for strength to bear the irreparable loss. He joined the radio station some 15 years ago.
Mr Nice Guy is survived by wife, siblings, and his mother, whom he often jokingly refer to while on live radio shows as ‘Iya Ologi'.
