OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that popular UK-based Nigerian cleric, Pastor Tobi Adeboyega, has stirred widespread reactions after revealing during a recent livestream with TikTok influencer, Peller, that he was once a member of a confraternity.

OTN News further reports that the revelation, which quickly went viral on social media, shocked many followers who expressed mixed feelings about the pastor’s past involvement in the Eiye confraternity.

Adeboyega, known for his flamboyant lifestyle and unconventional approach to ministry, explained that his membership in the group occurred years ago during his days at Olabisi Onabanjo University, formerly known as Ogun State University (OSU).

According to him, his association with the group happened while he was still a part-time pastor, long before he fully committed to serving in ministry.

Although he avoided disclosing detailed information about his activities within the confraternity, he stressed that his focus is now on spiritual growth, leadership, and guiding his congregation.

Following the confession, social media platforms have been abuzz with divided opinions.

Some Nigerians commended Pastor Adeboyega for his openness and honesty, saying his admission demonstrates humility and transformation.

Others, however, expressed concern about a religious leader having any past links to secret cults, questioning the moral implications and influence of such associations.

Despite the controversy, many observers believe Pastor Adeboyega’s candor could foster greater transparency among public figures, reinforcing the idea that spiritual leaders, like others, often have complex personal histories that shape their journeys of faith and redemption.
