The Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewa land, HIs Royal Majesty, Oba Kehinde Gbadewole Olugbenle has appealed to Nigerians in the Diaspora to strive to be good Ambassadors of the country at all times.

The Paramount Ruler made this appeal in Abeokuta on Thursday during the 50th birthday reception of Yewa born US Navy Chief, Princess Wuraola Adenike Florence.

The monarch, who was represented by Prince Otunba Samuel Ayinde Jaiyeola Ibikunle, and another reputable University Don of Yewa extraction, Professor Abdulrahmon Balogun, who is the President of Yewa Descendant Council showered encomiums on the celebrant, whom they, in their separate remarks, described as a star daughter of Yewa land who has been doing Nigeria proud in her career in the United States Navy and in her service to Yewa Land as the President, Yewa Descendant Union North America.

Similarly, another royal father at the birthday celebration, His Royal Majesty Oba Rotarian Kayode Joseph Ogungbohun, Osolo 1, Agbaigba of Ijaka Oke ably represented by High Chief Alhaji Oyewole Akeem, commended the celebrant for her consistency in service to humanity, love for her roots and commitment to doing Yewa land great proud any where she finds herself, noting that she is a very humble achiever worthy of emulation.

Earlier at the Golden Jubilee Birthday Thanksgivingservice held in honour of the US Navy Chief at the same venue, Arc. Bishop Jeremiah Okunlola, from the African Church Solution Ground, Ewang Estate Abeokuta, in his sermon, revealed that the attitude of thanksgiving is sacrificial in nature, noting that without giving to God and humanity, especially the less privileged and people who lack the capacity to give back, thanksgiving is incomplete.

According to Arc. Bishop Okunlola, "Thanksgiving is expensive. It comes at a cost. That's why only deeply thoughtful people thrive in thanksgiving. Giving in that word "thanksgiving" makes it complete".

Highpoints of the 50th Birthday ceremony of the US Navy Chief, Princess Wuraola Adenike Florence, include the emotional moments guests sang the Yewa anthem with deep attachments to their common roots and patrimony and when the mother of the Celebrant, Madam Maria Jolaade Oje, who is visibly aged but extremely delighted to witness the ocassion, danced to the popular "Sweet Mother" music with the celebrant.

Another remarkable highpoint of the ocassion was the moment the Master of Ceremonies, OTN News CEO, Olufemi Orunsola orchestrated the playing of a dedicated Bolojo music by Josy Friday for the celebrant to swing and dance to at the event at which point, Yewa Descendants Union America (YDUA) and other guests from Yewa joined the celebrant to respond to the rhythms of the Yewa music, swinging their white handkerchiefs to the melodious nativity music.

Commenting about the virtues of the celebrant a cross section of guests described the celebrant as a truly honest, humane, generous, diligent and family centric individual who has been a source of positive inspirations to them over the years.

A Retired School Principal who taught the celebrant English language and Yoruba language back in her junior secondary school days in Nigeria, Mr. Tunji Oyelade, expressed utmost joy in seeing her again after teaching her in form 1 and form 2, noting that Wuraola, since her school days had always carried an aura of being golden in her attitudes towards academics and extra curricular activities such as cultural dances. He therefore urged her to continue to be a good ambassador of Yewa land and Nigeria over there in the United States.
