Ogun Police Arrest Man Who Reportedly Stabbed, Poured Hot Oil on Wife's Body

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that the divisional police officer in Owoade Egba in Ogun State has arrested one Sholola Kazeem, who in an uncontrollable anger over a misunderstanding, poured hot oil over his wife, Sholola Mutiat, and also stabbed her in the head.
OTN News further reports that this development was disclosed in a statement signed by the State Police Command's Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO) CSP Omolola Odutola.
According to the statement, "the Divisional Police Officer in Owode Egba division has promptly intervened in a case involving gender-based violence and assault against a housewife, leading to the arrest of her husband for causing various injuries to her.
"On January 18, 2025, at about 12:20 hrs the divisional police officer received a report from members of the Ring Road community regarding an incident involving Sholola Kazeem, a male resident, and his wife, Sholola Mutiat, who reside at the same address.
"It was reported that Sholola Kazeem, in an uncontrollable anger over a misunderstanding, poured hot oil over his wife's body and also stabbed her in the head.
"The victim was taken to Ore Ofé Hospital for medical attention, and the crime scene was examined.
The statement suspect has been apprehended and is currently under investigation. " the statement said.
The statement however, added that updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
