OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that members of the association, who literarily turned Abeokuta to a momentary Mecca, arrived in Abeokuta on Friday 28th November, 2025 and swung into a chain of coordinated activities earmarked for the reunion.
The group, OTN News reports, in addition to give back to their Alumni faculty at their Alma mater in Ile Ife, paid a visit to the Stella Obasanjo Children's home in Ibara, Abeokuta where they made significant donation of items to the orphanage, where they were warmly received and entertained by the children.
The group, proceeded to the Swimming Pool side of the MITROS Residences, Ibara where a fun-filled reunion get-together night was observed as Abeokuta-based music maestro Mr.Yoobiggs and his entertainment band played different genres of music to serenade the old school mates who shared high emotions and excitements at seeing one another.
In the atmosphere of sheer camaraderie, reconnection and reminiscences created by the compère of the swimming pool side get-together, Open Television Naija's multi-talented broadcaster, Ambassador Olufemi Orunsola, Ijala Cultural Troope performed Yoruba traditional songs matched with acrobatic dance steps and stunts to the delight of the members
A major highpoint of the reunion welcome party was an interactive health talk session during which an invited medical practitioner, Dr. Yomibo Sholohan, lectured the members on the causes, management, and survival tactics for surving two major health challenges, namely: High Blood pressure and Diabetes.
Among other things, the association members paid a surprise visit to one of their lecturers who taught them at the University who is based in Abeokuta, Prof. J.O Fabunmi.
The association members also visited the Olumo Tourists Centre at Ikija in Abeokuta before reconvening for the Annual General of the Association,(AGM), which was livestreamed on Zoom by OTN News crew.
At the AGM, various reports of the association touching different aspects of their operations, such as finances, welfare, etc, were reviewed, while by popular demand and consensus, the Board of Trustees of the association ratified the re-election of the association's Executive led by Mr. Adegun.
It was an unforgettable and memorable night of nostalgia, reminiscences as Ambassador Olufemi Orunsola of OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA who was the compère of the reunion party cracked up the ribs of all members and guests present with series jokes, mimics and classical allusions to various aspects of school life at O.A.U Ile Ife such as Moremi experiences, Mozambique, Amphitheatre, Fork and Fingers, Old Buka, B2 and new Buka, the Eficos, the regular travelling students, beauty with brain ladies, baby of the class, among other peculiarities of life as undergraduates at the frontline Nigerian University.
A significant heightened point of the reunion when members literarily got excited and ecstatic was the moment Ambassador Orunsola, told the official DJ of the event, DJ CoolKay to play series of old time songs of the late 70s and 80s for the members ofvthe association who performed Karoake version of the songs to the thrill of others, one after the other.
In a move that further thrilled all members and guests present at the reunion, the Planning Committee, led by Mr.Taiwo Shitu, was highly commended by all for its impressive organization of the reunion, and was therefore as a standing Planning Committee for subsequent reunions of the association, tantalized the gathering by bringing in a gigantic Gorilla Mascot which danced with members on the dance floor.
