One of Nigeria's veteran Nollywood actor, Segun Arinze, has expressed his utmost dissatisfaction against a Facebook user who allegedly posted a false news about him, claiming he was in bad state of health.
OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that the veteran actor who is a top member of the Celebrity Special Marshals Unit of the Federal Road Safety Corps (CSM FRSC) took to the national Whatsapp loop of the professional group on Tuesday night, informing his colleagues that he is perfectly hale and hearty, noting that his picture published by the Facebook user, identified as one @ Sarah Irete Ajayi Otagbo was only a film location picture taken while on set.
The utterly pained and visibly disturbed Nollywood actor said, "Firstly I don't know you from anywhere. We are not related neither are friends? And you had the guts to go on Facebook to post a picture of me on a movie set working. Then decided to tell the world that a member of your family is Sick (Not me) I'm using this medium to clear the air. That I'm very hale and hearty. I'm not in anyway sick. And also to let @Sarah Irete Ajayi Otagbo know that I will be taking legal action against her for spreading false news about me. You have caused me a lot pain and embrassement, not just to me alone but my family and friends as well.
Segun Arinze noted that following the false news about his ill health posted by the Facebook user, "Many people have been calling me and sending messages from around the world.
He expressed his profound gratitude to his well wishers across the world, saying, "Thank you to everyone who reached out to me. God bless you all."
Meanwhile, OTN News observes that many Nigerian celebrities such as: Gbenga Adeyinka The First, CKN, Julie Chi-Nwaoha, CSM Osam, Hon.Kehinde Soaga, among others, have condemned the mindless action of the Facebook user, expressing their utmost delight in the well being of the veteran actor.
OTN News further observes that many netizens who took their time to fact-check the post have also tongue-lashed the Facebook user, Sarah Irete Ajayi Otagbo for posting Segun Arinze's location picture to mislead people that he was sick.
Pulling a late night call through to the Nollywood actor, the Chief Executive Officer of OTN News, Ambassador Olufemi Orunsola, personally confirmed from the veteran actor that the pictures wrongly posted as the picture of a sick Segun Arinze was actually a picture taken on the set of a movie production.
