Reports reaching the news desk of OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA OTN News have it that renowned Nigerian Islamic singer, Rukayat Gawat Oyefeso is dead.
OTN News gathered that the announcement of her passing came from Alfa Aribidesi At-Tawdeeh, a prominent cleric based in Ilorin, who broke the sad news through his official Facebook page @ Alfa Arinidesi At-Tawdeeh on Tuesday morning.
Breaking the news the Islamic cleric posted, "Or sympathy goes to the family of Rukayat Gawat for this great lost! May Allah forgive her shortcomings! RUQAYAT IS GONE!".
The soulful voice and spiritually uplifting music of Rukayat Gawat Oyefeso made her a beloved figure within the Muslim community in Nigeria and beyond.
As at the time of filing this report, full details regarding the circumstances of her death have not been revealed, as Netizens have taken to the social media to observe the saddening trend of untimely deaths recorded among gospel singers in Nigeria in recent times.
