NCC, ADEPTI Empower One Hundred MAPOLY Staff With Digital Literacy Training

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) in conjunction with the Advanced Digital Empowerment Programme for Tertiary Institutions (ADEPTI) has trained 100 members of Staff of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta on Data Analysis and Cyber Security.
The training was part of the mandate of the Commission to implement her policy documents, which are geared towards promoting ICT Literacy, Digital Skills and increasing ICT penetration.
Earlier, while declaring the 5-day training open, the Rector, Dr. Adeoye Odedeji pointed that Digital Skills and Internet of Things (IoT) are the evolving trends in global development.
The training was phased into two sections focusing on Digital Skills, Cybersecurity and Emerging Technologies and Data Analysis using SPSS Ms Power B.I
Each section is comprised of five modules focusing on Data Analysis using SPSS & Ms Power B.I and Digital Skills, Cyber Security and Emerging Technologies taken by Mr. Popoola Taofeek and Mr. Ajayi Ibraheem from DBI.
Through the modules, the Trainees have been exposed to insightful knowledge in Cloud Computing, Internet Online Collaborations, Data Analysis & visualization, Power BI queries, reports and dax among others.
Odedeji used the avenue, on behalf of the Governing Council, Management, Staff and Students to appreciate the Federal Government through the NCC for considering the Polytechnic as a beneficiary Institution of the highly impacting training.
The Rector recalled that the NCC in 2023 donated the Virtual Examination Center (VEC) which today served as the venue of the training as part of its intervention programme with 250 tables and chairs, installation of 250 Desktop Computers, equipping the Center with ICT peripherals and provisions of a 200KVA generator and other operational facilities.
The team lead for the NCC/DBI, Mr. Adegbenro Olaleye commended the Management for the accelerated organization and readiness to key into the programme which in turn will upgrade the standard of the Institution.
Olaleye, while imploring the participants to utilize the lessons for holistic productivity, he also encouraged them to embark on continuous training and self development.
While ensuring that Staff and Students leverage on digital technology for research, learning, inspiration for innovation, capacity building and advancement among others, the organizers have promised more future engagements.
The Deputy Rector, Dr. Mrs. Yetunde Lanre-Iyanda; The Registrar, Mrs. Olubunmi Elewodalu; the Polytechnic Librarian, Mrs. Akintunde Basirat, and the Bursar, Mrs. Madariola Folasade were in attendance.
