The House of Representatives has said it will launch an investigation into the technical error that affected the results of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that this decision was made duringplenary session on Thursday following a motion of urgent public importance raised by Hon. Adewale Adebayo, from Osun State.
OTN News observes that the he move came after a publici apology and statement of admittance of responsibility for technical errors in the UTME results by the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, who on Wednesday confirmed that a system error had impacted the scores of many candidates in Lagos and the five South-East states.
Earlier on Thursday morning, OTN News recalls that the national university admission and examination body has announced the commencement of rescheduling of utme examinations for the concerned students.
More than ever before, the focus of national discourse has shifted to the educational sector with many students and parents as well as other critical stakeholders in the sector expressing worries over the performance of JAMB and the painful consequences of the actions, inactions and policy of the board on students across the country
