OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports as gathered that the following the recent fire outbreak that gutted the headquarters of Fresh FM in Ibadan, Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has presented a brand-new Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) to gospel singer and broadcaster, Yinka Ayefele, who is also the Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of the station.
OTN News further reports as gathered that the governor’s gesture came after he paid a visit to the radio station to commiserate with Ayefele and assess the extent of the damage, which reportedly destroyed property worth millions of naira.
At the presentation ceremony, Governor Makinde, ably represented by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Otunba Ademola Ojo, commended Ayefele’s resilience and his contributions to entertainment, media growth, and social development in Oyo State and across Nigeria.
“On behalf of the State Governor, Makinde, and the State Government, we are here to commiserate with you. You are a symbol of perseverance and inspiration to millions of Nigerians.
“On behalf of the Governor and the state government, we present this gift to you," Ojo said while handing Ayefele the keys to the SUV.
However, Ayefele, who was visibly moved by the governor’s show of solidarity, expressed gratitude for the support extended to him and his organization during what he described as a challenging period.
OTN News had earlier reported that the fire incident, which caused significant damage to Fresh FM’s facilities, has sparked widespread sympathy from fans, colleagues, and well-wishers who hailed Ayefele for his resilience in the face of adversity.
