Lucky Ayedatiwa Wins Ondo Gubernatorial Elections, Secures Landslide Victory Over Opponents

By: Abdulwasiu Akintunde

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the incumbent Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Ayiedatiwa, as the winner of the Ondo State governorship election in the sunshine state.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News gathered that Ayiedatiwa, representing the All Progressives Congress (APC), garnered 366,781 votes, decisively defeating his closest opponent, Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who secured 117,845 votes.

Announcing the results, the Returning Officer, Professor Olayemi Akinwumi, stated, “Lucky Ayiedatiwa, having scored the highest number of lawful votes, is hereby declared winner of the election and returned elected.”

Ayiedatiwa’s victory was overwhelming, as he dominated all 18 local government areas of the State with a wide margin.

Reacting to the results, the Peoples Democratic Party in the state has rejected the outcome of the elections, alleging that the election was influenced by widespread voter inducement and did not reflect the people's will.

In contrast, the APC dismissed these claims, insisting the election was transparent and fairly won.

The party emphasized that Ayiedatiwa’s renewed mandate will focus on delivering democratic dividends and advancing the State’s development.
