LEKKI TRAGEDY: 30-year-Old Lady Killed By Faulty Water Tank Mounted on Apartment in Her Bedroom

An avoidable tragedy struck, cutting short the life of a young lady identified as Cynthia Chizoba Oguzie aged 30, who had just returned from work and was sleeping in her bedroom, when the water tank mounted on a faulty structure reportedly collapsed and landed on her bed.
OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports as gathered via a viral video of the tragic incident which surfaced online that the landlord of the apartment, said to be based abroad, claimed he had never seen the house in person and blamed the engineer for using substandard materials that took the life of the victim in her prime.
According to a man, Chukwuebuka Nathaniel who claimed to be the brother of the deceased victim as posted on his Facebook time where he shared the video and pictures of the incident, the landlord has refused to take responsibility for the incident but rather blamed the engineer who installed the tank for doing a shoddy job.
He penned an emotional warning note for tenants seeking accomodations in Lekki saying, “Beware of the Lekki building and their water stand. This is how they sent my sister to her early grave."
He further added a caustic appreciation to the landlord, as he wrote, "Thank you so called Lekki landlord and your engineer for doing this type of water tank".
He continued his bitter lamentation over the death of his sister as he further explained that, "The landlord said he is not in Nigeria. It is the engineer that builds all the houses and sends him pictures, this is how the story ended ooo”.
While the deceased victim has reportedly been taken to the mortuary, OTN News further reports that burial arrangements for Cynthia have been posted on Facebook where many netizens have continued to express their sadness about her tragic death.
Meanwhile, OTN News gathered that relevant authorities have invited the Engineer responsible for the building for questioning as investigations are ongoing on the sad incident.
