Lagos Wins $400,000 Award in Primary Health Care Leadership Challenge

Lagos State has won an award of $400,000 in the Primary Health Care Leadership Challenge organized by Nigeria's Governors Forum(NGF).

Announcing the award on his official X handle @ jidesanwoolu, the Lagos State Governor said, "I am happy to announce that we are the South West runner-up in the Primary Health Care Leadership Challenge organized by the Nigeria Governors Forum." 

Mr.Babajide Sanwo-Olu further revealed that, "We won a $400,000 award for being the best from the South West region, and this makes me extremely proud and grateful for the hard work of our team."

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News gathered as posted by the governor, that the Primary Health Care (PHC) Leadership Challenge is a flagship programme of the Nigeria Governors Forum, taegeted at revitalizeling the Primary Health Care Under One Roof (PHCUOR) policy in the country by maximizing the commitment of state governors to promoting a progressive increase in PHC funding.

Sanwo-olu' who further revealed that the Challenge, "also ensures that all primary healthcare centres have the necessary human resource capacity," assured Lagosians that "this award will further encourage us to do even more in the area of primary health care. Our goal is to continue improving healthcare services for the benefit of all Lagosians."

Concluding, the Lagos governor maintained that "This recognition reinforces our commitment to providing quality healthcare to our citizens, and I am determined to build upon this success to create an even stronger and more efficient primary healthcare system In Lagos State."
