OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that the governor of Ebonyi State, Francis Nwifuru, has disclosed how he struggled hard to survive by doing some menial jobs before venturing into politics.
OTN News further reports that the governor, who revealed that, he was once a bus conductor and a bricklayer, looking for N1,000 job per day, disclosed this while speaking during a night-long Adoration programme held earlier this week in Abakaliki to mark the second year anniversary of his administration.
According to him, when I looks back on my life, I realize that God brought me this far as a example to the youths.
The governor insisted that if he fails in his assignment from God, the youths will suffer.
He said: “I joined Adoration when I was a conductor and any time we have some little issues and we are sleeping at Enugu I will go to Adoration ground, especially in 2001 to 2003 when Adoration witnessed a lot of crisis.
“Father Mbaka has been my spiritual leader, consultant in so many ways, he is trustworthy and reliable. He never looked at my shortcomings even though a lot of people would have allowed that to becloud them.
“I’m gifted to be speaking to you as the governor, some people are not, that is why I won’t take it as a right but a privilege to serve you.
“Even before I contested my second election in 2007, I was still a bricklayer and less than five years I became the Speaker of the State House of Assembly – a bricklayer who was looking for a job to get one thousand naira per day – and like a joke, I’m now your governor. Pray for me not to disappoint God so the youths will not suffer.” he added.
