Billionaire Nigerian business man who is the President and CEO of Dangote Group, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has expressed his regrets over his failure to purchase the English Club, Arsenal when he had an opportunity to do so earlier on, noting that his focus on building the Dangote refinery made him to miss that golden opportunity.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News gathered from the Nigerian billionaire's interview with Bloomberg’s Francine Lacqua in New York that Dangote could not hide his deep regrets over the lost Business opportunity which he maintained, was one of the significant prices he had to pay as a result of his focus on the refinery project.

The Nigerian billionaire, who had at different times in the past made known his ambition to own a football club, admitted that he wished he had acquired the Northern London English team when its value was around $2 billion and at thhat time, when Arsenal wasn’t doing well.

Voicing his regret, Dangote affirmed that, "I think that time has passed. Last time we spoke, I mentioned my interest in buying Arsenal once the refinery was complete, but now everything has increased in value, and Arsenal is performing exceptionally well. Back then, the team was struggling," Dangote reflected, adding that

"I think that ship has sailed."

Moving on from the point of his failure to purchase the club and the feelings of regret however, the Nigerian billionaire revealed that,

"But what I will do is to continually be the biggest fan of Arsenal. I watch their games anytime they are playing. So, I will remain a major supporter of Arsenal but I don’t think it makes sense today to buy Arsenal."

This development has made many Netizens to begin to further question why the second richest man in Africa regrets his Multi-Billion dollars Dangote Refinery with many linking Dangote's regret to recent cold business war experiences in the hand of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and the Nigerian government.
