How Ebenezer Obey Plans to Celebrate His 83rd Birthday, 68th Years on Stage

Legendary Nigerian Juju music master, Evangelist Prof. Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi popularly known as Commander Obey, has revealed details of how he intends to mark his 83rd birthday on April 3, 2025, which coincides with his 68th year anniversary of dominating the Juju music landscape in Africa and across the world.
OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports as gathered that the music maestro, instead of floating a grand celebration has chosen to embark on sobre reflections on his music career that has spanned no fewer than 68 years.
A statement by Tunji Odunmbaku, General Manager of Obey Music Group, has it that the music icon, had in the circumstance, opted for a thanksgiving service instead of a lavish and lively celebration.
The statement further reveals that the service would hold at Decross Gospel Mission, Headquarters of Praise, in Iyana Ipaja, Lagos.
“Beyond the thanksgiving, the event will also feature intercessory prayers for the nation,” the statement added.
Already engrossed in obligatory reflections ahead of the birthday, Obey was quoted to have said, “I have been a successful musician and one of the leading artists for 68 years, taking my music to the four corners of the world.
“Despite facing health challenges and undergoing multiple surgical operations, God has granted me victory over them all.
“I thank God for remaining relevant in my music career while serving Him. Honestly, I have experienced it all, and I cannot thank God enough for the special and unique grace in my life and career. I truly feel fulfilled.
“I want all my friends, fans, and well-wishers to join me in appreciating God as I turn 83 and celebrate 68 years as a successful, world-acclaimed musician.”
