Heartbreaking Murder As Hotel Manager Kills 22-Year-Old POS Girl, Buries Her Body Within Hotel Premises, Collects Ransom Through Her Machine

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that in a heartbreaking information, the manager of Century Home Hotel in Owhelogbo, Delta State, identified as Iboirode, has brought back into spotlight the disappearance of a 22-year-old Point-of-Sale (POS) operator, Onoriode Bethel, who had been missing since December 2024, after confessed to the brutal murder of the young lady.
OTN News further reports that the Delta State Police spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, who disclosed this, explained that Bethel’s remains were eventually recovered, and her disappearance, which had gone unsolved for months, was brought back into the spotlight following Iboirode’s March 2025 arrest for an unrelated murder.
According to the police SP, the horrific crime was committed after Bethel accused Iboirode of stealing N10,000 from her account through a fake bank alert.
Edafe further explained that the suspect, Iboirode, lured Bethel to the hotel under the pretence of resolving the financial dispute.
However, he murdered her in cold blood and buried her body within the hotel grounds.
The police spokesperson noted that although she recovered the money, but, Iboirode reportedly felt his reputation was damaged and decided to take drastic action.
Describing the case as a chilling example of cold-blooded violence, Edafe said, “The suspect murdered Bethel and buried her body on the hotel premises."
OTN News observes from the information provided by the state PRO that in an even more sinister twist, Iboirode’s wife revealed that she had knowledge of the murder.
He said that she recounted the night her husband lured Bethel into the hotel, telling her that Bethel was a friend.
Later that night, Iboirode came out of the room, confessing to his wife that he had killed Bethel.
Edafe further noted that the horror didn’t end there, after killing Bethel, Iboirode used her mobile phone to contact her father, demanding a ransom.
He said that the suspect had coerced Bethel into revealing her POS password and used the device to withdraw the stolen money before ending her life.
