Nigeria Customs Service Partners Ogun SWAN on SWAN Security CUP 2024

The Customs Area Controller in Ogun State Command 1, Comptroller James Ojo has advised paramilitary agencies to engage regularly in sporting activities to keep fit and remain in optimal shape in the discharge of their constitutional duties.

The Customs Boss gave the advice while receiving executive members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Ogun State chapter at his Idiroko office during the week emphasized the importance of sports in everyday activities. 

Comptroller Ojo, revealed that the command is ready to partner SWAN ahead of the forthcoming 4th edition of SWAN/SECURITY CUP scheduled to hold in August as part of its corporate social responsibility to the state in the area of sports advancement.

Open Television Naija reports that the Ogun SWAN SECURITY CUP, organized by the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, Ogun State Chapter is targeted at ensuring synergy among security agencies with the aim of promoting physical fitness.

Open Television Naija recalls that the football team of the Nigeria Police Force code named Police Machine won the 3rd edition of the SWAN SECURITY CUP which held in 2023, beating their counterpart from the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) six goals to five in a keenly contested final that earlier ended in a goalless draw but went into penalty shout-out.

In the third place encounter, the Nigerian Correctional Service team won by a statutory walkover after the opposing team, the Nigeria Customs Service failed to turn up for the match.

With the partnership assurances given to the SWAN executives by the Customs Area Controller in Ogun state, Comptroller James Ojo, hopes are high that the Nigeria Customs Service will participate actively in the 4th edition of the SWAN SECURITY CUP tournament in Ogun state come August 2024.
