New Minimum Wage:Finance Minister Wale Edun Reportedly Recommends N105,000 to President Tinubu

Reports reaching Open Television Naija has it that Nigeria's Finance Minister who is also the Coordinating Minister for Economy, Mr. Wale Edun has recommended N105,000 which is approximately $220 as the new minimum wage for Labour in a template submitted to President Bola Tinubu.

Open Television Naija recalls that we previously reported that the Finance Minister of Finance, Mr Wale Edun was recently given a 48-hour deadline by the President to present a new minimum wage for further negotiations with the organized labour.

Credible sources informed Open Television Naija that the template prepared and presented by the Minister proposes a new minimum wage of N105,000 per month for Nigerian workers.

Open Television Naija gathered that President Tinubu having received the proposed template, is already reviewing the proposal.

This development is coming after the organized labour temporarily relaxed the massive nationwide strike, which they commenced and coordinated across country from Monday for five days after it had successfully grounded all activities and operations in virtually all sectors of work including the aviation, power transmission and other sectors, in order to resume negotiations with the federal government.

Open Television Naija observes that neither the organized labour nor the Presidency has made any official statement on the submission of the new wage template.

Open Television Naija remains committed to giving you verified and officially authenticated updates on the new minimum wage struggle of the organized labour in Nigeria.
