Former governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola, has openly appreciated President Bola Tinubu for mentoring him and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu well over 20 years ago, noting that the political mentoring has enriched Nigeria’s democratic experience.
OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that Fashola, who acknowledged that Tinubu entrusted them with responsibilities, affirmed that they have both grown since into occupying positions.
The former Lagos Governor disclosed this during the Omi Eko launch over the weekend.
In his words, “I must thank the governor who along with me about twenty-something years ago were young men being mentored by another governor who is now president today.
“He entrusted us and this is the story of our journey. If course, Lagos has been busy lately on the waters, from the E-one to Omi Eko and who knows what next.
"Kudos to the government led by Sanwo-Olu and the entire team. Let me also say that you could not hand pick better partners, especially the French development agency".
While appreciating Sanwo-Olu for his strides in Lagos, Fashola thanked President Tinubu for the quality of leadership training given to his political mentees over the years.
