Falana's Lawyers Issues Retraction Demand As Falz Denied Bobrisky’s N3 Million Financial Request to Bribe Correctional Officers

The legal team of prominent human rights lawyer, Femi Falana has issued a formal demand for the retraction of defamatory statements made about his son, Folarin Falana, better known as Falz.

As gathered by OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News in a letter dated September 26, 2024, signed by Taiwo E. Olawanle, Esq., and shared on Falz’s Instagram page, Falana’s law firm addressed Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, who authored a social media post implying Falz’s involvement in securing a presidential pardon for Bobrisky.

The retraction request came in response to allegations that linked Falz to a conversation with Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky, regarding financial assistance and legal help.

Bobrisky has faced legal issues due to charges related to Naira abuse.

The letter clarifies that Bobrisky allegedly reached out to Falz for legal advice and requested N3 million to bribe correctional officers for VIP treatment while in detention.

Falz, however, refused to provide the money, advising that such payments were unnecessary.

The legal statement read, "Our client never initiated any conversation with Mr. Idris Okuneye. In fact, documentary evidence shows it was Mr. Idris who first contacted our client on May 4, 2024, seeking legal advice in light of his ongoing legal troubles."

It further explained that during the call, Bobrisky requested financial assistance of N3 million to secure preferential treatment at the correctional facility, a request Falz declined, advising that no payment was required for such treatment. Bobrisky, despite Falz’s counsel, insisted on his request.
