Owa Obokun Of Ijesaland, Oba Gabriel Aromolaran, Passes Away After Brief Illness

Reports have emerged that the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, Oba Gabriel Adekunle Aromolaran, has passed away. 

Palace sources indicate that the revered monarch died on Thursday following a brief illness.

Although the palace has yet to release an official statement confirming his death, sources close to the royal household have confirmed the news. 

"Baba has passed, but we are awaiting an official announcement from the palace,” a source revealed. 

The source further mentioned that traditional rites, which must be completed before any formal announcement, have already begun.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News gathered that a CityMirrorNews correspondent who visited the palace observed a heightened security presence and noted that traditional ceremonies, customary after a king's death, were underway.

Oba Aromolaran had a reign that spanned more than 40 years, leaving a lasting le

gacy in Ijesaland.
