Electrocution: Teenager, Monday Dies on Sunday While Operating Machine in Ogun Factory

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA OTN News reports that in a tragic turn of an event a 19-year-old machine operator, Ishaku Monday, was reportedly electrocuted while on duty at a factory along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ogun State.

OTN News further reports that the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, (PPRO), Omolola Odutola, who confirmed the incident on Monday, stated that the teenager was working at Xinfeng Plastics Limited when the fatal accident occurred.

According to her, the incident happened around 7:30 pm on Sunday while Monday was operating a palletising machine inside the factory." Adding that "he was immediately rushed to Idera Medical Centre in Sagamu, where a doctor later confirmed him dead

She added, "the Nigerian manager of the company, Francis Felix, reported the incident to the Sagamu Division of the Ogun State Police Command on Monday around 7 am,”

Furthermore, she disclosed that detectives visited the scene, took photographs, and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the electrocution.

She, however, stated that the victim’s family opted out of any further probe and requested the release of his body for burial, adding that Monday’s remains have been deposited at the Babcock University Teaching Hospital mortuary.
