#EdoDecides2024: INEC Declares APC Candidate, Monday Okpebholo As Winner Of Edo Election
The candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Monday Okpebholo has been declared as the winner of the Edo State governorship election governorship election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Monday Okpebholo as the winner of the edo governorship election.
The Edo State Governorship elections final results as announced by the Electoral umpire, showing the total votes of the top three parties in the election are as follow:
*APC: 291,667*
*PDP: 247,274*
*LP: 22,763*
In the meantime, OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA OTN News reports that in the wake of the announcement of final results in the Edo 2024 Governorship Elections, the DIG in-charge of the Elections, DIG Frank Mba, mni has activated the post-election security strategy of the Force.
A statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, reveals that the post election security strategy include, but not limited to, Show of Force Exercise, designed to boost the confidence of citizens and to reassure of the readiness of the Force to respond appropriately to any possible threat to public safety and security in the State.
OTN News also reports that in line with the post-election security strategy, the DIG has ordered enhanced deployment in and around INEC facilities, key stakeholders involved in the election and other critical infrastructure within the State.
Meanwhile, as major parties involved in the election swing into varying mood such as: post election jubilations by the declared winner and his party, possible reactions of objections by the incumbent governor, Godwin Obaseki and his parties that reportedly lost the election, among others, the Nigeria Police Force has called on citizens to remain peaceful and law abiding while going about their endeavours.
The Force warned against any conduct by any individual or group capable of disrupting the existing peace in the State, noting that the Force and the security forces are prepared than ever before to ensure continuous peace in the State.
