Dapo Turns Dancing Governor As Team Ogun Wallops Team Kwara 4 - 1, Clinches Gold Medal in Final Football Match

The Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun literarily led Ogun, the host state of the 22nd National Sports Festival into a frenzied mood of celebration as Team Ogun, on Tuesday evening, walloped Team Kwara 4 goals to 1 at the football final in the ongoing Gateway Games 2024.
OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that the Ogun state governor, who has taken both the preparations and organization of the Games so personally, having earlier mobilized massive home advantage support for the state’s football team, danced his way through the Match as Team Ogun staged an impressive first half at the final, keeping their Kwara counterpart down by 3 goals to 1.
OTN News further reports that Team Ogun, clad in its yellow jersey, was spurred to definitive victory towards the second half of the final encounter where a mammoth crowd of spectators, football enthusiasts and the home team supporters club, sealing the win at 4 goals to 1.
OTN News further reports that the Ogun state governor flanked by his wife, the Ogun state first lady, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun and the Deputy Governor, Engr. Mrs. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, as well as other top government functionaries, thronged the newly renovated M.K.O Abiola Sports Complex to watch the final match, could not hide his excitements about the impressive performance of the Team Ogun.
Meanwhile, Team Kwara clinched the Silver Medal at second place, while Team (Nigeria’s U17 Boys), in the third-place match, defeated Team Kaduna 2-0 at the Remo Stars Stadium in Ikenne-Remo to take home the bronze medal. Striker Abdulmuiz Adeleke was pivotal, scoring the first goal and pressuring a defender into scoring an own goal.
Earlier on Tuesday evening in the female category of the football match at the games, Team Ogun played against Team Osun, in which Team Ogun beat Team Osun 2 goals to nil as the duo of Damilola Adeyanju and Itunuoluwa Odeyiola netted the balls that gave Team Ogun women's football a bronze medal in the quarter final match.
