Dapo Abiodun Pledges to Complete All Ongoing Projects Without Imposing Additional Tax Burdens on Ogun Citizens

The Executive gun Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has pledegd to complete all developmental projects initiated by his administration without imposing additional tax burdens on citizens of the gateway state, noting that he will continue to deploy financial creativity and transparency all the way.

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports tha the governor, revealed that such strategic efforts have positioned Ogun as Nigeria’s leading state in Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) after Lagos, marking it as one of the three most viable states in the country.

Prince Abiodun made this known while speaking during the budget presentation at the Ogun State House of Assembly complex, highlighted that his administration prioritizes projects with significant revenue potential, job creation prospects, and alignment with the State Economic Development Plan & Strategy 2021–2025.

In his words, “Our approach focuses on reversing the infrastructural deficit inherited from previous administrations. In less than six years, Ogun has experienced rapid growth across all sectors, thanks to the ISEYA mantra guiding our developmental agenda."

The governor further explained that his administration’s development strategy aligns with the seven thematic areas outlined in the Medium-Term National Development Plan 2021–2025, which include economic growth, infrastructure, governance, human capital development, and regional development.

“The inherent concept of our developmental agenda is predicated on projects that align with the seven thematic areas contained in the Medium-Term National Development Plan 2021–2025: Economic Growth and Development; Infrastructure; Public Administration (Governance, Security, and International Relations); Human Capital Development; Social Development; Regional Development; and Plan Implementation, Communication, Financing, Monitoring, and Evaluation,” he revealed noting that despite the government’s efforts to boost revenue and eliminate financial leakages, Ogun Citizens can be reassured that there would be no imposition of additional taxes.

Abiodun pledged saying, “We are committed to ensuring financial stability without placing unnecessary burdens on our people."

OTN News l recalls that the governor had presented a proposed budget of N1.05 trillion for 2025, tagged the “Budget of Hope and Prosperity.” to the State House of Assembly.

OTN News further recalls that the budget in question comprises N453.56 billion for recurrent expenditure and N600.98 billion for capital projects, reflecting a balanced approach to sustaining growth and development in the state.

“Our financial creativity and transparency have placed Ogun State in an enviable position, second only to Lagos in terms of IGR. This achievement underscores our dedication to fostering a prosperous state without compromising the well-being of our people,” Abiodun said with utmost pride in his leadership style.
