Dapo Abiodun Approves Recruitment of 1,000 Amotekun Personnel, Pledges More Support for the Security Corps

The Executive governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, as part of his zero tolerance for crime policy, has approved the recruitment of 1,000 additional Amotekun Corps personnel, increasing the total to over 2,000.
OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA OTN News reports that the governor also pledged to provide more patrol vehicles, electric motorcycles, communication gadgets, and other resources to support their operations.
Speaking at the passing-out parade of 690 Batch D trainees in Sagamu, the governor emphasized the Corps’ role in grassroots security and unemployment reduction, while complementing federal security efforts.
He commended the trainees for their discipline and urged them to focus on intelligence gathering and community policing.
The Commandant of the Corps, Brig. Gen. Alade Adedigba (rtd), highlighted the trainees’ preparedness and thanked the government for its support.
The ceremony also featured awards and cultural activities.
