Confusion as Peter Obi's Supporter Squandered N1M Obidient Movement's Campaign Funds on Chelsea vs PSG in Edo, Dumps Party, Joins APC

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports as gathered that the Obidient Movement in Edo state has expressed confusion after a member of the campaign group squandered a Million naira contributed by each member of the Obidient family for the upcoming 2027 Presidential election campaign on Chelsea vs PSG match bet.
OTN News further reports as gathered that the Obidient Movement's director of mobilisation, Morris Monye, who disclosed this on the group's X handle, formerly Twitter, on Thursday, explained that the movement kept N1 million campaign funds with the member because the group had no bank account.
According to him, we raised almost 1m naira for mobilisation in Edo state which the Obidient leadership gave to one of the members to help hold for the Edo state Obidient chapter as there is no official account.
However, when it was time to use the money for activities, the person could not bring out the money. He had one excuse or the other. I was so disappointed. Like over how much?” Monye explained.
He added that the Obidient Movement “involved police and he confesses that he used the money for betting. (Chelsea vs PSG precisely).”
Monye further explaining said that after the (unnamed) member was forced to refund all the money, he joined the ruling APC in his ward, Oredo LGA Ward 7.
OTN News observes that Obi, a former governor of Anambra, garnered huge support and funding from young Nigerians during the 2023 presidential election.
However, after the 2023 election, accusations and counter-accusations of fund embezzlement have rocked his team, as members of a faction of his Labour Party and the Obidient Movement continue to trade blames.
