BREAKING: NPF Ask Kidnappers, 'You Dey Wain Naija Police Ni?' As Police Neutralize Kidnappers of Ex-AIG Hakeem Odumosu’s Wife, Recovers Ransom

In a ground breaking sting operation that makes a statement about the zero tolerance of the Nigeria Police Force for crimes in the country, akin to asking the criminals, "You dey Wain Nigeria Police Force ni?", the Nigerian Police have neutralized the kidnappers and recovered an undisclosed amount as ransom reportedly paid for her release.
OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News gathered that the successful victim recovery operation is coming some seven days after the abduction of the wife of former Assistant Inspector General of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, by masked armed men.
The Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi, disclosed this on Thursday via his Facebook page, hailing the police operatives for their swift and decisive action in resolving the case.
OTN News recalls that the victim, was kidnapped on Friday, January 17, 2025, at her residence in Arepo, Ogun State.
Reports indicated that the assailants struck as she was returning home from an outing, forcibly taking her into captivity.
In the statement shared on Facebook, Adejobi announced the successful operation, stating:
“BREAKING: Police Neutralise AIG Hakeem Odumosu’s Wife’s Kidnappers, Recover Ransom.
The IGP has commended the Police Operatives and CP Ogun State, Lanre Ogunlowo, for a good job. We are committed to safeguarding Nigerian citizens and our dear country.”
The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, applauded the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, and the operatives who carried out the operation.
He reiterated the force’s commitment to protecting lives and property and ensuring justice prevails.
Although further details about the operation remain undisclosed, sources within the force revealed that a tactical team worked round the clock to track down the abductors, leading to their eventual elimination and the recovery of the ransom money.
The Force PRO, Ogun State Command, SP Omolola Odutola reached by OTN News for confirmation of the operation has not responded as at the time of publishing this report.
Meanwhile, the news break has generated a huge sigh of relief and commendations from different quarters of the society as well as Nigerian Netizens on the social media platforms.
