Labour Putson Hood For 5 Days After A Joint Extraordinary NEC Meeting

The Organised Labour has said it is relaxing the nationwide strike for five days to give room for uninterrupted meeting with the tripartite committee on the new national minimum wage.
The General Secretary, Nigerian Labour Congress, Comrade Emma Ogboaja and the first Deputy President, Trade Union Congress, Tomi Okon, in separate interviews have confirmed the decision to ut the strike on hold for a week.
Open Television Naija had earlier reported the signing of an agreement on the new minimum wage between the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, SGF, George Akume, other government officials and labour on Monday night during when it was revealed thar President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was committed to a new minimum wage higher than N60,000.
It was resolved that the Tripartite Committee would meet every day for the next one week with a view to arriving at an agreeable National Minimum Wage.
However, Open Television Naija observes that the Nigerian Labour Congress has not officially posted the decision to relax the nationwide strike on its official X Twitter handle through which it had floated a situation room update on the strike as at the time of filing this report, as the unions last position posted on the official handle is the:
"Until we hear from Our Organs at our Meeting scheduled for today 4th June , We are still on Strike."
