Boiling Point Set to X-ray How New NNPCL Team Can Make a Fresh Start to Fix Nigeria's Oil and Gas Sector -Arowojolu

As the nation continues to grapple with deep-seated challenges in the oil and gas sector, the popular monthly interview discourse, Boiling Point Arena, is lining up three prominent petroleum experts to robustly set agenda for the new management team of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation Limited(NNPCL) on how to salvage the sector.
OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that this was made known by the convener of BOILING POINT ARENA, Dr. Ayo Arowojolu, a media professional and public relations strategist, who is the host of the once-in-a-month current affairs programme, now in its 32nd episode.
According to him, The topic of discourse is: "Cleaning the Augean Stable: Can NNPC's New Team Fix Nigeria's Oil and Gas Sector, Making it Work for Nigerians?"
Dr. Arowojolu, who noted that although President Bola Tinubu has undertaken bold moves to revitalize the sector with the inauguration of a new Management for NNPCL led by Mr Bayo Ojulari, there is need to set an agenda for the augean task by the new board, to move the country forward.
He revealed that the June edition of the BOILING POINT ARENA billed for Sunday, June 8, 2025, will have on the podium seasoned petroleum experts; Prof. Wunmi Iledare, Dr Timothy Okong and Engr. Emeka Ene who are to offer insightful perspectives on how NNPCL can make a fresh start to sanitize the sector.
He further revealed that the programme, scheduled to be streamed on Zoom, will be simultaneously broadcast live on no fewer than six radio stations across Lagos, Ogun and Delta State, commencing at 8pm on Sunday.
Among the stations are WASH 94.9FM, Sweet 107.1FM, Roots 97.1FM, Ẹrimbe 92.1FM, Women Radio 91.7FM, and the Asaba, Delta State-based Kruzz 92.9FM.
BOILING POINT ARENA commands an incredibly large online followership and wide listenership base.
Dr. Arowojolu further revealed that Prof. Wunmi Iledare, an Emeritus Professor in petroleum economics and policy research at the Centre for Energy Studies, Louisiana, United States of America, will lead the team of Discussants.
He would be joined by Dr Timothy Okon is a geophysicist, petroleum economist, financial consultant and Managing Partner at Teno Energy who was at some point Acting Group Executive Director, Exploration and Production, NNPC.
The third Discussant is Engr. Emeka C. Ene, the Chief Executive Officer of Oida Energy Group and Chairman, Board of Trustees of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Nigeria Council. Engr. Ene had also been a member of the Presidential Task Force on Refineries Reform in Nigeria.
The trio are to brainstorm on myriads of issues which include how to meet up with Nigeria's Crude oil daily production of 1.8 million barrels, persistent challenges of oil theft, pipeline sabotage, low local refining capacity and delay in rehabilitating existing refineries.
Foremost traditional ruler, the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, Oba Prof Saka Matemilola, is the Keynote Speaker and Chair to herald the discourse on Sunday.
