The Bauchi State Police Command has announced the arrest of two students from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, over allegations of conspiracy, burglary, and theft.

As gathered by OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News, the Police spokesperson, Ahmed Wakil revealed this in a statement released over the weekend, noting that the arrest followed a tip-off from a concerned individual who reported a group of students assaulting two others to the Yelwa Divisional Police Headquarters.

The suspects, identified as Bamusa Bako, a 400-level student of Urban and Regional Planning, and Yusuf Umar, a 500-level Industrial Design student, were apprehended after detectives were dispatched to the scene.

OTN News further reports that initial investigations suggest the duo broke into the residence of Raji Rabi’u, a 400-level Estate Management student, stealing several items, including a 32-inch TV, a DSTV decoder, and other belongings.

Both students have reportedly confessed to the crime, admitting they planned to sell the stolen goods to fund their final-year project defense.

The police urged the public to report any suspicious behavior promptly for quick intervention.
