Anthony Joshua Narrowly Escapes Death in Monday Road Crash As Two Die in Makun

Reports reaching OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News have it that world-renowned boxer, Anthony Joshua, was involved in a road accident earlier today at Makun, Ogun State.

Eyewitnesses report that the incident occurred along a busy highway of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

The vehicle carrying Joshua, a Lexus Jeep with the number plate, KRD 850 HN, reportedly collided with a stationary truck under circumstances that are yet to be fully determined.

OTN News further reveals that a photograph of Anthony Joshua after being rescued from the car crash originally shot by Adeniyi Orojo has surfaced online and is now trending.

According to eyewitness accounts, the incident occurred along a busy highway of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

The vehicle carrying Joshua, a Lexus Jeep with the number plate, KRD 850 HN, reportedly collided with a stationary truck under circumstances that are still being investigated.

A press release by the Spokesperson of the Igun State Command, DSP Oluseyi Babajide has confirmed that Anthony Joshua was indeed involved in the accident that happened at Makun, noting that he has since been rushed to the hospital for treatment. 

"The Ogun State Police Command confirms a road accident today in front of Sinoma, before Danco, along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway. Anthony Joshua and other injured persons have been rushed to the hospital", states DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi.

Following the development, fans of the Nigerian boxer have flooded social media with messages of concern, while local authorities have expressed commitment to investigating the cause of the crash.

More updates on Joshua’s condition are expected shortly.

Calls by OTN News to the TRACE Commandant, Akinbiyi Babatunde, for further information on the road crash and the state of being of the boxer proved abortive as his phone line did has not been available.
