'Aliens Are Real’ — Barack Obama Revisits Extraterrestrial Debate

By: Isreal Adeleke

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports as gathered that former United States President, Barack Obama, has once again sparked public conversation about extraterrestrial life after an old interview clip resurfaced online and gained renewed attention across social media platforms.

OTN News further reports as gathered that in the clip, Obama addressed long-standing speculations about aliens and government secrecy, stating in a characteristically light-hearted tone: “They’re real, but I haven’t seen them. They’re not being kept at Area 51. There’s no underground facility — unless there’s this enormous conspiracy and they hid it from the President of the United States.”

The remarks, delivered with dry humour, reflect Obama’s consistent public stance on the subject both during and after his presidency.

While acknowledging the popular fascination with UFOs and alien conspiracies, the former president reiterated that he found no evidence of alien spacecraft or extraterrestrial beings during his time in office.

Obama has, however, repeatedly noted the scientific possibility of life existing elsewhere in the universe, given its vastness.

In several past interviews, he explained that while statistical probability suggests that humanity may not be alone, there was no classified briefing presented to him confirming the existence of aliens.

His comments have often been accompanied by jokes about transparency in government, with Obama quipping on multiple occasions that if extraterrestrial secrets were being hidden, they were kept beyond even presidential clearance.

The resurfaced clip has once again ignited debate online, with social media users offering mixed reactions.

OTN News observes that some viewers took the line “They’re real” literally, while others focused on the humour in his dismissal of Area 51 conspiracies and secret underground facilities.

As discussions trend anew, Obama’s remarks continue to balance scientific curiosity, public transparency, and humour keeping the age-old question of whether humanity is alone in the universe firmly in the public imagination.
