In a new twist to the pains and agonies experienced by Nigerians amidst widespread fuel scarcity across the country, a veteran Broadcaster and actor, Yemi Sodimu has gone viral for uploading a new video in which he sang a newly composed song of thanksgiving on account of his ability to secure 30 litres of petrol at the sum of N30,000 only.
In the viral video sighted by OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News, Yemi Sodimu was seen sitted on the passenger seat of a private car with his seat belt fastened, beaming with a sarcastic smile as he sang his newly composed song of thanksgiving in Yoruba language.
The veteran broadcaster and actor, obviously decided to go theatrical with his bitter experience and struggle before getting premium motor spirit, popularly known as petrol at the hiked fee of N1,000 per litre, of which he claimed to have bought only 30 litres.
In his words as translated by OTN News, it is now praise worthy for one to buy 30 litres of fuel at the sum of N30,000 given the widespread fuel scarcity in the country that has rendered many private vehicle users unable to use their vehicles again.
In the video now going viral, Yemi Sodimu presented his new sarcastic song in Yoruba language singing, "Mo dupe, pe mo ri epo ra. N30,000 fun 30 litres....Tori Kii se gbogbo eniyan lo ri epo ra".
This development has underscored a striking feature of Nigerians who were once described by the late Afro Beat singer and human right activist, Fela Anikulapo Kuti as folks who have great capacity to persevere in the face of great suffering yet smiling as the title of one of the evergreen songs of the legendary musician tagged Suffering and Smiling says.
