The social media landscape in Nigeria got a new trending topic attracting different reactions after the fall and rise of President Tinubu at the Eagles Square Abuja on Wednesday morning.

However, Open Television Naija reports that in what many have now described as a great display of huge sense of human, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu took himself lightly at the June 12 Banquet tonight when he skillfully played the role of Grand Comedian of Nigeria, as he cracked carefully worded jokes about his fall earlier in the day, making all guests at the exclusive, strictly-by-invitation June 12 Banquet to laugh while they all spontaneously gave him a round of applause in admiration of his sense of humor.

The President recalls how the social media has been awash with reactions following his fall while boarding the Motorcade of the Presidential Guard of Honor, sparking concerns about his health.

President Tinubu took the guests by surprise when he openly joked about the incident, putting his guests at ease.

Positioned like a professional comedian, President Tinubu described his tumble as a “typical Yorubaman’s way of prostrating,” saying, "I did my dobale" (meaning, I prostrated for democracy's sake).

The June 12 celebrations mark 25 years of uninterrupted democracy in Nigeria, and President Tinubu’s humor helped to cap off a day filled with festivities and reflection.

Despite his earlier fall and the barrage of sarcastic comments, criticisms and allusion to the fall as a symbol of ill health, President Tinubu's sense of humor and the lively spirit with which he summoned the courage to joke about the incident stands to make the day memorable, in line with the popular saying that all is well that ends well.
