....Confirms Cooperation of Nigerian Government

In a move that smarks of walking his tough talk against terrorism and what he had described as on-going Christian genocide in the populous African country, the President of the United States has announced the successful launch of the first phase of attack against ISIS in Nigeria during Christmas.
OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that Trump announced the successful airstrikes on ISIS targets on Christmas day via his Truth Social media.
The American president announced that he directed the US Forces to launch a “powerful and deadly strike against ISIS Terrorist Scum in Northwest Nigeria, who have been targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians, at levels not seen for many years, and even Centuries."
Similarly, OTN News reports that confirming the attack, the U.S. military Africa Command in a post on X have also confirmed that it had conducted a strike that killed multiple militants at the request of Nigerian authorities, stating that "The strike occurred in “Soboto state," - obviously making a reference to Sokoto state.
Trump said, "I have previously warned these Terrorists that if they did not stop the slaughtering of Christians, there would be hell to pay, and tonight, there was,” adding that the Pentagon conducted “numerous perfect” strikes against Islamic State targets in the region.
Meanwhile, U.S. Defense Secretary, Pete Hegseth has openly thanked the Nigerian government for its support and cooperation in a post on X, adding that there was “more to come…”
Rep. Addison McDowell, R-N.C., who said, "This situation for Christians in Nigeria has been reaching a breaking point,” thanked President Trump for what he described as his "strong action this Christmas.”
OTN News recalls that in November, Trump said in a Truth Social post that he directed the Pentagon to “prepare for possible action” in Nigeria after he alleged that Nigeria’s government was not doing enough to protect Christians in the country.
He subsequently talked tougher by designating Nigeria as a Country of Particular Concern(CPC), accusing Nigeria of religious freedom violations on Oct. 31, saying that, “Christianity is facing an existential threat in Nigeria."
He then threatened to immediately cut off all aids and assistance to Nigeria.
Trump had then warned that the U.S. military may go into Nigeria with “guns-a-blazing” to “completely wipe out the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities.”
In his words, "If we attack, it will be fast, vicious, and sweet, just like the terrorist thugs attack our CHERISHED Christians! WARNING: THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT BETTER MOVE FAST!”
Although Trump’s position generated strong waves of reactions, ranging from denials of Christian genocide claims by the Nigerian government, the US maintained a steady line of systematic doplomatic actions over the last couple of months, including visits by top level US officials to Nigeria for situation assessment.
Tinubu's, ultimately, affirmed that it remained “committed to working with the United States government and the international community to deepen understanding and cooperation on [the] protection of communities of all faiths.”
