TRENDY CHALLENGE GONE WRONG:Internet on Fire as Netizens React Over Obi Cubana's Declaration of Biological Son as ‘Next Of Kin’ After Adopted Son’s Claim

OPEN TELEVISION NAIJA (OTN) News reports that amid the ongoing Nigerian billionaire business man, Obi Cubana's next of kin drama, Netizens on different platforms have jumped on the recent step taken by wealthy business man. 

OTN News further reports that Cubana who responded to his adopted son, Chidi's claim of being the next of kin, posted a photo with his biological son, Alex on Instagram, with the capture "Ancient and modern, eyes on the ball. @dtwalx aka next of kin”.

OTN News recalls that Chidi the adopted son who jumped on a viral challenging trend had posted a video on his TikTok page with the caption, “Nothing do my shoulder, I just realise say I be next of kin”.

Reacting subtly to his post, Cubana, on Instagram, posted his biological son, Alex, captioning it “Ancient and modern, eyes on the ball. @dtwalx aka next of kin”.

He emphasised Alex’s status as his original next-of-kin in the comment section of another post, writing, “Correct boy, original next-of-kin”.

However, the post didn't settle well with some fans, therefore sparked controversy with many criticising Obi Cubana for airing the issue publicly instead of resolving it privately with Chidi.

Some users felt that Obi Cubana’s response was unnecessary and harsh while others supported his clarification of Alex’s status.

Some critics argued that Obi Cubana should have handled the situation more discreetly, telling Chidi to delete the TikTok video and discussing the matter internally.

One user with the handle name @Abazwhyllzz wrote: “Unnecessary. He should have told the guy to delete on TikTok,then solved it internally instead of coming to post sha. I be poor man make I mind my business.”

Another user with the handle name @Soyecatherings wrote: “I don’t think he thought of the consequences in the long run. This wasn’t the best way to address it sha. But even thinking about being the next of kin now simply means obi has to be unalive or old enough to not be able to run things.”

Others defended Chidi, calling him an “innocent child” who was just making a harmless video.

A user with the name @Gladys_Onyetem wrote, “A child that was jst doing a harmless video, una don reason plenty things put, na wah for una ooo…Una even Dey say na adopted child, I thought that’s his brothers child? Una don project una wicked family negativity on this innocent video….Una go Dey find village ppl, na una…”

Another user @DemoOfUK wrote, “Nawa o. They say make you come chop, you carry long spoon come. Adopted why you wan dey claim omo onile for another person land”.
